One interesting second day

Day two of new school year on campus had a very intersting start to the morning.
Apparently, after an attempted bank robbery around 8:30 am this morning, two men took off in a car, running from police. They led Clovis (CA) PD, Fresno PD and University police on a chase through a main street on campus, to an apartment complex near by. The suspects ran into one car, and shot at police, injuring one. They ditched the car and ran into a nearby apartment. They eluded the cops, now including the SWAT team, CHP, and helicopter teams, by running through many of the apartment complexes in the area.

Campus was still business as usual, although people could only get onto campus from the far side of campus, which made traffic incredibly busy. A few elementary schools and a high school in the area were on lock down as the cops searched for the two suspects.

By 2 pm, one suspect was caught, the other was still on the run.
By 5 pm, things had quieted down, but the streets surrounding the area was still closed off to traffic, This made trying to leave campus for the day VERY DIFFICULT! It took me 20 minutes just to get through the stop-and-go traffic to get to a street where cars are going more then 5 miles an hour.
Apparently earlier tonight, the 2nd suspect was caught.

I'm sure the day's excitement will be the topic of water cooler talk all over campus!
On to another day!

OH MY! Doesn't sound like a fun day. Glad it's over and glad nobody got hurt - thank goodness!
