Kids these days

My observations from last night Halloween escapede was quite interesting.
Troy and I hung out at his mom's house giving out candy to what we thought would be neighborhood kids.... but to our surprise, there were kids coming from all over that somehow got into the gated community to trick-or-treat for candy.

Although we had kids of all ages, it was actually the older teenagers that were fun to talk to and actually said "Thank you," "Have a nice night," and other pleansantries. The younger kids grabbed their candy, hardly saying a word to us, and ran off. There was even a few boys that dug their hand into the candy and ran out with a big hand-full of candy, to fill their bag. I think I even saw a few kids sneak through twice to get treats.

In our neck of the woods, treak-or-treaters got a late start (6:30 pm) and continued on until close to 9 pm. We were outside for most of that time but it turned cold outside so we all went in. Plus, 8 pm came and it was time to watch "Dancing with the Stars."
(My review will follow after tonights results show.)

Hope everyone had a safe Halloween and don't get too sick on all the candy. :-)

glad y'all had a good Halloween!

we got an early start, like 5:30 with our kids and they were in bed by 8:00! we still had trick-or-treaters ringing our doorbell after 8pm even with the porch light off
